The Inaugural Charitable Golf Tournament

On July 12, 2007, The Friends of Indonesia, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Ottawa, organized the Friendly Golf Charity Tournament to raise funds for the relief of victims of the Central Java earthquake. The funds raised for the tournament was given to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief of the effected region of Central Java.

The tournament was held on July 12, 2007 at the Canadian Golf & Country Club just west of Ottawa. This friendly golf game (shot gun start/best ball format) begin at 12:30PM followed by dinner and auction and Indonesian cultural dance performances by the Indonesian Community in Ottawa.

Prizes to be won were: Best Team Gross Score, The Longest Drive (Men and Women) and the Closest to the Pin. As well there were cars for the Hole in One contests sponsored by Ogilvie Mercedes-Benz and Kollbec Gatineau Chrysler Jeep Inc.
