Annual Charitable Golf Tournament 2010

The Co-ordinating Committee of the Friends of Indonesia would like to invite you and your friends and family to our 3^rd Charitable Golf Tournament.  This year tournament will raise funds for the Mercy Ships, which is the largest non-governmental hospital ship in the world. We will also raise funds for the less fortunate children in Indonesia to support the ongoing education of the children and to benefit their families.

The tournament will be held on September 21, 2010 at the Canadian Golf & Country Club just west of Ottawa. This friendly golf game (shot gun start/best ball format) will begin at 1.00 PM sharp followed by dinner and Indonesian cultural dance performances by the Indonesian Community in Ottawa.

Prizes to be won are: Best Team Gross Score, The Longest Drive (Men and Women) and the Closest to the Pin. As well there will be a Mercedes Benz to be won for the Hole in One contests.

Registration will start on May 10, 2010. The registration will be based on a first come, first serve basis.

As seen in the attached picture, the fund collected in the amount of $ 850.– has been handed over to the Canadian Red Cross, Ottawa Branch, and received by Ms. Joanna Luciano, Manager, Donor Relations on March 2, 2010, at their offices on 340 Catherine Street.

We were able to raise $850.00. We realize that our contribution may just be a drop in the ocean, but it is a profound symbol of our sincere care in order to share our grief and sympathies to help victims rebuild a new Haiti from their ruins. The presence of Mdm Marjorie Auguste Damas as First Secretary of the Embassy of Haiti is a clear indication of their appreciation to our initiative as well.

The funds raised that evening will be donated through the Canadian Red Cross.

Saifullah Yusuf said Thursday the problem was caused by poor parenting skills, underfeeding and diseases, tempointeraktif.com reported.
